Sample collection guide

You can collect the swabs at home. Please read this sheet before collection.

Nasopharyngeal swab

1. Take out the thinner swab, avoid touching the cotton part.
2. Position head slightly back.
3. Gently insert the swab into the nostril about 2-3 inches/ 5-7cm deep.
4. Gently rotate the swab for 10-15 seconds then gently remove swab.
   Please use the same swab to collect samples from both nostrils.

5. Insert the swab into the tube until the breakpoint is level with the tube opening, then break the swab against the tube.
6. Discard the broken part.

Sample return

Twist close the tube cap and put the sample collection tube inside two layers of zip bags.

Please return
(1) the 2-layer zip bag containing the tube,
(2) signed consent form, and
(3) completed questionnaire, inside the large zip bag.
Bring the delivery service sticker label to SF Express within 7 days after collection to return the bag to us (Room 204, Postgraduate Education Centre, Prince of Wales Hospital, Shatin).
A HKD50 supermarket voucher would be offered.
